Telecoms

Bespoke software for UK telecoms contractors

SENRAB builds bespoke software for telecoms contractors who want to move off paper job sheets and spreadsheets and connect field engineers with the office. Telecoms work is delivered by field engineers and subcontract teams across many sites, and each visit produces evidence that has to be right before anyone approves payment. Our job management software is a configurable foundation for allocating work and keeping job records together. The telecoms-specific parts, such as work orders in your customers' formats, site surveys, photographic evidence and subcontractor approvals, are built to your requirements.

For the people who run the work.

  • Infrastructure, installation and maintenance contractors with engineers out on several sites each day
  • Operations managers who allocate work and chase completion evidence
  • Subcontractor managers who engage and pay field teams
  • Finance teams who need approved completion records before they invoice or pay

Workflow problems we start from.

Work orders in many shapes
Orders come in by email, portal and spreadsheet, so the same details get typed again before an engineer is sent.
Survey photos without a home
Images taken at survey or installation are matched to the right site by hand, sometimes days later.
Completion chased engineer by engineer
Someone in the office rings round to find out what was finished and whether the pack is complete.
Subcontract teams report their own way
Each team uses its own paperwork and format, so the office reformats it before it can be checked.
Payment waits for sign-off
Work sits finished but unpaid while approvals move between people without a clear owner.
Engineer records kept elsewhere
Training and competence documents sit in a separate folder from the jobs those engineers are sent to.

A typical sequence, in this sector's terms.

An illustrative scenario, not a customer case study

01

Work order received

An order arrives and is logged with its site and requirements.

02

Survey

A survey visit records what is on site, with photos and notes.

03

Allocation

An engineer or subcontract team is assigned and told what is expected.

04

Installation or repair

The work is carried out and recorded at the site.

05

Evidence and completion

Photos, forms and sign-offs are gathered into a completion record.

06

Approval and payment

The completion record is checked and approved before payment is released.

Does this look like your business?

What to bring to a first conversation.

  • A typical work order, as it reaches you from a customer
  • An example survey and completion pack, photos included
  • How engineers and subcontract teams report that a visit is complete
  • Who checks completed work before it is invoiced or paid
  • Where engineer training and competence records are held today

Common questions.

Can it connect to the work-order systems jobs arrive from?

Connections with other systems are scoped per project. We would look at what customers send you and what they expect back, then say plainly whether a link is practical.

Can engineers add photos from site?

Yes, once photo capture has been scoped for your process. We would agree what has to be photographed, how files are named, and how they attach to the job.

Do you have telecoms case studies?

Not yet. We have no published case studies and we do not publish customer names. The free 20 to 30 minute review is a conversation about how your work runs today and what would help.

How would engineer qualifications be tracked?

The people management software covers training, competence and document tracking, with reminders for records that are missing or expiring. It is early-stage, so we are plain about what exists today.

Next step

Follow one work order from receipt to payment.

Bring a recent order and its completion pack. We will map where the details are re-keyed and where evidence goes missing.
